Sing With A Holy Fire: Kindled For Sacrifice
In the midst of troubles; frustration; sorrow; pain, which are inevitable; my heart aches and longs for you.
Someone threw me under the bus the other day…. Told me it was for the team. After the initial impact, I felt mauled, bloody, alone… In pain. But, God. PRAISE BE TO GOD! Too often we make some form of success,
popularity, approval, the goal, when spiritual maturity and stability is the TRUE objective. The ONLY objective. God will help us if we truly desire to change.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and
fixed under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalms 91: 1).
“Your mercy, O Jehovah, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Jehovah, You keep man and beast. How precious is Your loving-kindness, O God! And the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of Your wing. They shall be satisfied with the fatness of Your house; and You shall make them drink of the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we shall see light” (Psalms 36:5-9).
Thank you for stirrings of Your Holy Spirit. Suddenly with gladness, praises and thanksgivings, my sackcloth is loosed. You gird me with gladness and hallelujahs become as fervent as hosannas.
“My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise. Wake up, my soul! Wake up, harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn. I will praise You, O Jehovah, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. Your love reaches higher than the heavens; your loyalty extends beyond the clouds. May you, my God, be honored above the heavens; may your glory be seen everywhere on earth” (Psalms 57: 7-11).
I am in love with prayer because You meet me; you meet me where I am and You will steady my heart. My heart is fixed on You. What was once was bowed low, is lifted up. My heart is fixed on Your providences; You have prepared for every event, how can I not be fixed upon You.
“I will not be afraid of bad news; my heart is firm, trusting You” (Psalms 112: 7).
“You will keep me in perfect peace because my mind is fixed on you, because I trust in you” (Isaiah 26: 3).
“My heart is fixed, and then none of these things move me” (Acts 20:24).
My heart is fixed to sing and give praise. This is my purpose. This is my duty. I will attend on You, my Lord without distraction!
You have stirred, quickened, awakened my soul. I was dull and drowsy. I was carelessly, dead, but you have given me Your song and I will sing with a holy fire, kindled for sacrifice. Ascend holy flame, ascend.
For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we shall see light” (Psalms 36: 5-9).
I will sing to You among the nations; and You will send forth Your mercy and truth. Be thou exalted, O God! Be exalted above the heavens and above all the earth.
Father, glorify thy own name. Thou hast glorified it; glorify it yet again (Nehemiah 9:5)
