SEVEN DAYS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD
A Holy Week Prayer Guide
Day 1 – Palm Sunday: CRY OUT!
Key verse
“’I tell you,’ He replied, ‘if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out’” (Luke 19:40, NIV).
As Jesus entered into the city of Jerusalem, He came humbly while entering as the King. People may not have completely understood why he had come, but they praised God fervently for His arrival. We cannot sit silently when the King has entered our lives. We cry out with those who welcomed Him into Jerusalem that day singing, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” No matter the situation we may find ourselves in, we serve the King of kings and praise the name of the Lord our God.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, amid crisis we can get so caught up in ourselves or in our circumstances that we fail to recognize You during the storm. Humbly You came in order to offer us new life and reconciliation through Jesus. You have arrived as our conquering King, conquering sin and death. We call out to you crying, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” Thank you for entering into time to reconcile us to You. Thank you for entering into our hearts to rule and reign through Your Son, Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen.
