Seeking Truth During Ramadan
Mary is a beautiful young girl who is searching for Truth. She is studying engineering at a local university, has high hopes for the future, and contrary to the norm, is not being pushed by her family to marry. Her father died when she was only a few months old and her brother has left many decisions up to her and her mother. Because of this, she has much more freedom than most girls. However, she lives in much fear.
Mary is afraid every day when she goes to school; she is afraid of being kidnapped, shot or near an exploding bomb. She is also very concerned about the future. Will studying even pay off with a job when she graduates? When she is ready, will she be able to find someone to marry? Will he be kind to her? So many questions and so few answers.
Mary is also different from most girls because she has a Bible and loves reading it. Her mother and sister both know she reads; her mother even joins her sometimes. She has said that she wants to know which path is right. When she is afraid, she reads her Bible and has peace. In the past, she struggled with nightmares, but after a Follower of Isa’al Massiah prayed with her in the name of Jesus, the nightmares stopped! She loves reading about Jesus, his life and the miracles He did; but she is not yet willing to say that He is more than a prophet or that He is the only way to God.
Please pray that Jesus will speak to Mary’s heart as well as speak to the thousands of other girls like Mary. Please pray that they will decide to follow Isa’ al Masih so that their fears about cleanliness, shame, marriage and the future will be taken away.
Please pray that they will come to know the One that will never leave or forsake and has plans for them;, plans for their welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope. Pray that they will call upon Isa’al Massiah and pray, for He will hear them. For He tells us if we only choose to seek Him, we will find Him. Pray that for Mary that she will desire to seek Him with all her heart (Jeremiah 29: 11-19).
