SEASONS…

Hi.  

I am wondering what to say… I could talk about politics; everyone seems to be. What’s good. What’s bad. What I believe to be truth. No, I think I’d rather talk about seasons.  

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

“Seasons”, you say. There are seasons of time, seasons of circumstance, seasons of growth, seasons of change. Seasons of all manner of things. To this I say, “Gam Zeh Ya’avor”. Translation… This to shall pass. According to Dailystoic.com, this adage was one of Abraham Lincoln’s favorite phrases. Lincoln stated, “An Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words, “And this too, shall pass away” (https://www.quotemaster.org/q7fbd090e05403da93b6cd699d62bf653).

 Lincoln is best known for both endurance and wisdom. During the long arduous fight of the American Civil War, he thrived because he viewed life from this point of view.

Hmmm, I wonder… what would the world look like if we all decided to believe as Lincoln and take these words as our own truth? Would we too become more patient, wise, forgiving, compassionate?
