Two thousand, two hundred and eighty seconds…
Now that bows and ribbons are put away and the blur of Christmas lights give way to musing for the New Year… My thoughts are focusing on a small group of family, friends and pastors who sleepily boarded one of many planes headed for the Orient. They departed when stars burn bright and late evening watches desperately long for the morning’s first rays… They departed. Traveling afar, they departed… Like the wise men of old, each one is bearing a gift worth every second of the 38 hour journey, they departed. Two thousand, two hundred and eighty seconds, perhaps many seconds for only one way…so, in honor of sacrifice, in honor of a sweet and fragrant offering, (Philippians 4:18; Ephesians 5:2), God’s work… in seconds, the blog will focus on prayer or specifically prayer for these precious hands and feet. “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things” (Romans 10:15).
I am hoping that you will join me and pray that God’s gift will be fully embraced… O seed of Heaven, spring forth tender shoots from “good soil” (Matthew 13:23).
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).
