“Pour Out Your Spirit”
Once upon a time… well the time is actually present day… There was a boy named Slider. He lives in the Middle East, in a far away land. I heard about Slider from a friend who lives there amongst Slider’s people. This is his story:
Slider lies outside the door of my friends house. He can’t hear anything that people say, but he is always happy to shake my friends hand, give a thumbs up, and try to sneak his hand into her pockets. He shoots off fireworks all through the day, which may be the reason that he is deaf. To most it might seem impossible to think that this little guy could ever her the Truth but its not. He can hear the fireworks; he lights them up all day long. He loves hearing. The Almighty is in the business of doing the impossible. Lets be honest, Slider is just as simple for the Almighty to heal as any of the rest of us. Pray for Slider. Pray that he will have ears to hear what millions around him not heard-a powerful voice that will break his silence and light up the darkness overhead.
Joel 2:28-29
“… I will pour out my Spirit on everyone: your sons and daughters will proclaim my message; your old people will have dreams, and your young people will see visions. At that time I will pour out my Spirit even on servants, both men and women.
Act 2:17-18
‘This is what I will do in the last days, God says: I will pour out my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and daughters will proclaim my message; your young men will see visions, and your old men will have dreams. Yes, even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will proclaim my message.
“Holy Father and Lord Christ, Isa al Masih, just as You poured out your Spirit during the days of Pentecost (Acts 2), we humbly ask and plead that You once again pour forth your Spirit onto all people who seek you. Please send dreams and visions. Please send sons and daughters to proclaim Your message of hope and rescue. Please bless mankind with Your presence. We need You. Draw people, call people back to You. You promised that Your glory would be revealed and all people would see it (Isaiah 40:5). Many are weary, lost and without hope, stumbling blind in the dark. They cannot find their way. They need a Savior.
Thank you God that you care about outcasts and servants. Thank you that you bless those who are marginalized, weak and vulnerable. Thank you that you do not love as the world loves. Thank you that You see value and worth in ones such as these. In fact, you strengthen them with your might and call them to your purposes. We pray that you will give these ones boldness to prophesy your message. Please give them holy and divine power to speak your words.
Thank you Holy One for Your tender mercies. It is only because of You that we know of love. You reach out during greatest need. You come because You are faithful, gentle and generous. You come in the soft whisper of a voice (1 Kings 19: 12). Help us to hear. Open our eyes and our hearts.”
And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2
