God Our Healer, Come
Mona and Ahmed are the middle children in a family of ten who live with their parents, grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousins in a small two bedroom flat. Mona and Ahmed both have significant physicals disabilities and their families brought them to the disabled center seeking help for their precious children. Unlike the majority of people in this region, their parents love and value them very much despite their disabilities. Bringing their children to the center required considerable effort from their parents; they had to either take a taxi which was beyond the family’s budget or take three different mini-buses followed by a walk up a steep hill (which was impossible due to the children’s disabilities). To lessen the burden, workers started visiting Mona and Ahmed at home where they were freer to share stories from the Word. The family eventually became believers and have shared God’s story with many other family members and friends.
Currently there are no trained professionals in this country to work with people with disabilities. Would you please pray that God would raise up workers to go and reach this often overlooked group and their families? Praise God for His work in the disabled community. Please ask that He would continue to move in the lives of people like Mona and Ahmed’s family.
Acts 3:1-8
“One day Peter and John went to the Temple at three o’clock in the afternoon, the hour for prayer. There at the Beautiful Gate, as it was called, was a man who had been lame all his life. Every day he was carried to the gate to beg for money from the people who were going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John going in, he begged them to give him something. They looked straight at him, and Peter said, “Look at us!” So he looked at them, expecting to get something from them. But Peter said to him, “I have no money at all, but I give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I order you to get up and walk!” Then he took him by his right hand and helped him up. At once the man’s feet and ankles became strong; he jumped up, stood on his feet, and started walking around. Then he went into the Temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God”.
Lord Christ, many children and their parents across the globe are in need. We pray for your favor and blessing to fall on the families who have disabled children. Many live in remote places in which there is no hope of help. Most are ostracized, alone, forsaken by their communities. Worse still, there are no physicians, no physical or occupational therapists, no teachers to reach and give hope for ones such as these. But you are Master, Adonai, the King of Kings, Elim’Elech, the Strong-One who keeps covenant, our Elohim and you see the need of your children, El Roi. Please reach out to these families, Jehovah Jireh, God Provider. Please touch and heal them in their need, Jehovah Rapha, God Healer for you are Living Grace, Etha’nan. We thank you for what you are going to do, Almighty, All-Sufficient, El Shaddah. Amen
