Awake North Wind….

A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Song of Solomon 4: 15-16

O Fountain of gardens! Lord Christ, God in flesh, the Fountain of all goodness and of all grace; the well of living, effervescent water, send forth your living breath and speak to your garden. Send for Your words of hope and healing. Bring us, Your church back to you. Turn us back. For many of us have gone wild, seedy, and pithy to the core. Yes, many of us are an overgrown garden of dried up stocks choked by weeds. We have failed to drink deeply from your living waters and our roots are shallow and weak. We need you, O Fountain of gardens. You are the source of life-giving water (Jeremiah 2: 13). Show us the idols that choke. Idols keep us from drinking Your pure and holy water. We want to repent. Help us to grow once again (Jeremiah 31: 12).

Send forth your Holy Spirit to awaken us. Awake North wind. Blow South breezes. Refresh the spirit of Your garden. Stir up a sweet and holy fragrance. Give us a longing for the scent of your spices, that sweet fragrance of Christ (2 Corinthians 2: 15). Yes, please stir up spices of grace. Let us be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5: 22). And we will praise your name. Thank you for what you will do. Amen
