Rivers Refreshing…
Isaiah 44:3
“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants”.
Heavenly Father, we cry out for those of the desert. It is hot and dry and they choke on burning sands, blinded and suffocating. Please relieve their pain and descend upon the dry and desolated earth. Relieve parched throats and cracking, bloody lips with rivers of your effervescent, Heavenly water.
You are mighty. You are holy. You are faithful to Your word and Your suffering children. You see their afflictions. And we know that You “split rocks open in the desert and gave them water from the depths. You made streams come out of rocks and caused waters to flow down like rivers” (Psalms 78: 15-16). Nothing is too hard for You. Yes, we intercede and beseech.
Please, come down like rain upon the grass and as showers that water the earth (Psalms 72:6). Oh yes, we pray “Your teachings drop as the rain,
Your speech distill as the dew, like gentle rain upon the tender grass, and like showers upon the herb” (Deuteronomy 32:2). “Your word, O LORD, will last forever; it is eternal in heaven. Your faithfulness endures through all the ages; you have set the earth in place, and it remains. All things remain to this day because of your command, because they are all your servants” (Psalms 119: 89-91).
Thank you Holy Messiah for heavenly blessings. Thank you Heavenly Father for pouring Your Spirit on those who are thirsty and to those who thirst after righteousness. Please make us, thirstier for You so that you will send your streams of tender mercy, streams of grace, streams of loving kindness and forgiveness. Renew Your covenant with us as we have lost our way. We have sought and worshiped idols instead of You, our creator. Save us and our children. For we desire that they will “spring up among the grass like willows by flowing streams. [We long for] this one [to] say, ‘I am the LORD’s,’ another [to] call on the name of Jacob, and another will write on his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’ and name himself as one of God’s people (Isaiah 44:4-5). Thank You for the work You are doing and are going to do.
Amen
